    What are the eligibility criteria to study in India?

    A. You must possess Senior Secondary / GCE `A’ level / any other examination equivalent to 12 years of schooling in India, with sufficient knowledge of English, for admission to undergraduate programmes.

    B. For entry into Diploma programs, the qualification required is 10 years of schooling.

    C. Admission to postgraduate courses requires an undergraduate degree in appropriate discipline.

    D. Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has recognized the following examinations with +2 stage qualifications of an Indian Board giving assess to the Bachelor degree program including professional courses at Indian Universities.
    1. GCE examinations with passes in 5 subjects at
    ¤ Ordinary Level ¤ and 2 subjects at ¤ advanced Level ¤
    1. For admission to professional course - medical/engineering advanced Level passes in Physics, chemistry, Biology/Mathematics and English are essential.
    2. Baccalaureate Certificate of France.
    3. International Baccalaureate diploma of Geneva, Switzerland
    4. High School Diploma from accredited School of USA
    5. Intermediate/Senior Secondary/Higher Secondary of the approved Boards in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.
    6. 12 years General Secondary Education Certificate of the Ministry of Education - Iran, Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Countries.
    7. 12 Secondary Stage qualification of National Examination Board/Council of the Ministry of Education - Kenya, Nigeria,, Ethiopia, Uganda and Tanzania
    Whether I have to write any test like  GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS to get admission ?
    No not at all……….Indian Universities do not insist for the above scores.
    Every Indian university has English as the medium of instruction and most Indian universities consider a good knowledge of English as a pre-requisite to pursuing academic studies. proficiency in English is a must. You should have studied for qualifying examination in English or English should have been one of the subjects.

    I do not understand good English. How do I overcome this problem?
    India is the 3rd largest English speaking population in the world and hence it is a place where foreign nationals feel at home.You should be able to become more fluent in the use of the language while living here.

    For international students weak in English, most colleges and universities conduct special English language and communication courses.

    When does the Indian Academic Year Start?

    The academic year in India usually starts in the month of June/July. However, some institutions have the academic year beginning in August/September.
